Open Question: How to Properly Hug A Care Bear?

My dream is to get to hug a Care Bear. I have a Care Bear stuffed animal, but it doesn't ever laugh when I tell it jokes, or hug me back. :( So, I decided that I'm OBVIOUSLY not hugging it right. I need to know how to properly hug a Care Bear stuffed animal. Humpty Dumpty ate a Potato. He turned into a tomato! OH MY POPSICLE STICK.
